As The Sponsor Of Hot Rod's BIKE-WORKS Readers' Rides, Bassani motorcycle exhaust, available exclusively from North County Customs, wants to help you get the most out of your motorcycle. If we select your bike to run in the Readers' Rides section, the folks at North County Customs will give you a gift certificate good for $75 toward the purchase of a set of the shop's pipes. Now what could be better than that? Getting your bike displayed on these pages is as simple as sending a couple of good-looking photographs of your motorcycle shot against a clean background (no poles growing out of the seat, no cars or trash cans in the background). Please include some information telling us what you've done to make your bike cool.

If you think your bike has what it takes, then show it off for all to see. Mail your photos, a brief background of the bike, and your contact information to HOT ROD'S BIKE-WORKS, Attn: Readers' Rides, 2570 E. Cerritos Ave., Anaheim, CA 92806, or e-mail us at bikeworks@primedia.com.

Back in the Saddle
Claude Bullis of Clemmons, NC, was convinced by his chums to get back into American-made iron. Claude was into Harleys back when Harley owners were considered bums or thugs by the general population. He started searching high and low for the one-and-only bike he would be caught dead on: a panhead. After finding the right match, the '52 FL 74-inch motor ran pretty well, but the body needed some TLC. So he took an auto body course at the local community college (when you want something done, do it yourself, right?), then prepped and all of the sheetmetal and painted it in PPG Black. We'd say that his favorite builder of all time, Indian Larry, would be proud.

Lady in Red
Dennis Hoban says that his bike turns more heads than a presidential motorcade. He is always getting the thumbs-up from passers by, and the covetous motorists stare at his machine wherever he goes. He has had many motorcycles in the past, but none of them had the style or the flare of this red and black paint scheme to match this factory-built masterpiece.

Big Loud Bike
Jule Knight of Hazen, ND, stretched the frame 2 inches on his '02 special construction build. This sleek-looking bike has a monstrous 96-inch S&S motor and a 3-inch BDL open primary on a Baker six-speed tranny. Jule went with Jesse James fenders for that signature look, and the growling power of the Samson Exhaust can be heard from miles away.
