S&S Announces Their 50th Anniversary Builder List
With their June '08 celebration rapidly approaching, S&S announced the list of the 50 best-known custom-bike builders who will create a full custom bike using different S&S motors serial-numbered from '58-'08-a tribute to their golden anniversary. The builders will be vying for the $50,000 grand prize, but more importantly, they will be rallying around S&S as they celebrate and blow out the candles on their birthday cake. Judging responsibilities will be given to the builders themselves, key media members, S&S personnel, show attendees and Internet voters. "This year's project is very special, because it involved major commitments from 50 different builders from around the world," said S&S president, Brett Smith. "The amount of time and effort involved in making a project like this a success is extraordinary, and we cannot thank those who are supporting it enough."
Builders such as Brian Klock from Klock Werks, Arlen, Zach and Cory Ness, Roger Bourget from Bourget's Bike Works and 47 other participants will be joining the festivities and friendly competition. Many sponsoring members of the motorcycle industry such as Baker, Independent Cycle, Metzeler, Ness, Paughco and Performance Machine, to name a few, have pitched in to offer the builders discounts and parts donations.
If you have the means to attend the S&S birthday bash in La Crosse, Wisconsin, during the weekend of June 26-29, 2008, consider yourself a privileged witness of motorcycle history.
